ChatMonitor is an AppleScript to monitor Adium chats for mention of specific terms, especially your aliases. It uses Growl to notify you when one of the terms is used in a chat, making it easy to watch group chats for someone who refers to you by name.

The Adium API has changed, and this script no longer works.

Installation

1. Edit ChatMonitor.scpt and set the monitorTerms variable to a list of the terms to watch for.
2. Save the resulting script in ~/Library/Application\ Support/Scripts/Adium (create the directory if it does not already exist).
3. Set up an Adium event handler for the "Message Received" event to call the script.

Now when you receive an incoming message, the script will check for terms of interest and alert you.
